Last week, I had the pleasure to participate in the the 21st Annual National Association of Black Journalists North Carolina A&T Short Course.

The program is four days, and selects students from all over the country to partake in classes, multimedia projects and a newscast.  The short course is run by mentors who are reporters, anchors, photographers and producers in different markets.  Many of the mentors are returning professionals who were in the short course when they were in college.

It was so inspiring to be around students who are serious about news and to be encouraged by people who are successful in the industry. I definitely recommend the program!
